225 Magazine Photo Contest – Deadline: Monday, October 1st

RULES
To be eligible, your photo must have been taken on or after August 1, 2011.

Entries may not have previously appeared in a newspaper or magazine or on a website published by a newspaper or magazine.

Entries must have been taken either within Baton Rouge or elsewhere by a resident of Baton Rouge.

You may enter up to three photos, but each must be submitted in a separate email (see “HOW TO ENTER” details below).

Entries must be received no later than Noon on Monday, Oct. 1.

Winning Photos will be chosen by two judges selected by the editor of 225 magazine.

By entering, you grant 225 the right to publish your photograph and caption, including an edited version of your caption, in print and online. However, you retain ownership of your submitted images.

By entering, you affirm that you are the photographer and sole owner of the photo submitted.

No employee of Louisiana Business Inc., or their immediate family, may participate in the contest.

No employee of the contest judges, or their immediate family, may participate in the contest.

Rules can be changed or amended at any time and without notice.

Community (our city, your family, your friends)
Dedication (commitment to a goal and the resolve to achieve it)
Food (fabulous meals and the people who share them)
Joy (moments of elation)
Journey (enchanted places, exotic faces)
Power (strength to move mountains–or human hearts)
Refuge (places of tranquility and peace)
Struggle (the drama of effort)

HOW TO ENTER
Enter by emailing your photo and caption to yourstories@225batonrouge.com.

Each email must include the following:
– Name
– Address
– Phone Number
– Occupation
– Caption that explains the photo or its significance (should not exceed 75 words)
– One photo attachment (hi-resolution, not compressed; jpeg or tiff file)

The Subject Line of the email must read “225 Photo Contest” and the category. (example: 225 Photo Contest – Community)

PRIZES
All winners will be featured in the print and online editions of 225‘s December issue. In addition, the winner of each of the eight categories will receive a prize, and the overall “Best in Show” winner will receive a grand prize from 225 and/or the sponsors of the contest. Prizes will be announced before the winners are chosen.
