Graphic Design Selective Admissions Workshop

If you plan to submit a portfolio for admission to the Graphic Design concentration in fall 2013 you should attend this workshop!

February 14, 2013 at 6pm Room 211 Art Building

There’s a new admissions process this year that involves creating a display of your work in the College Commons. The deadline for submitting application packets is March 29, 2013 at 4:30pm. For more details pick up the informational handout in the Art Office.

Job Opportunity LSU Legacy Magazine—Application Deadline November 27th

Legacy magazine is currently hiring for the spring semester. They’re looking for designers as well as writers and photographers. Besides a lovely paycheck, you get a wealth of experience in your respective field and the convenience of working on LSU’s campus.
“Legacy magazine is a fantastic place to boost your portfolio and get real experience in designing. Some highlights of the job are:
  • Designers paid by salary to work for an entire semester
  • Your work will be published, giving you an edge when you compile your portfolio for future job interviews
  • Designers conveniently work flexible hours out of Hodges Hall on campus
  • Must have knowledge in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, but we are willing to teach those who are not familiar with the programs
  • Must be a full-time student
  • Applications found in B39 Hodges Hall, due by 11/27 at 4:30 p.m.
 
Deadline for our applications is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving break (Nov. 27).

Graphic Designer Position at LSU UREC

The LSU UREC is in the hiring stages for a graphic designer for the Spring semester. The ideal candidate currently holds either a sophomore or junior standing, and must be able to work during the upcoming summer semester. The deadline for submitting an application for this position is November 9.

Dreamweaver 1: Introduction to Web Design

Description:
Prerequisites: None. Students are introduced to web design through the Dreamweaver interface. The course covers graphical tools found in the software, as well as the fundamental principles of web design and technology. Registration is not required for attending this class.

Dreamweaver 2: Website Management

When: Wednesday, October 3, 2012 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Description:
Prerequisite: Dreamweaver 1. Continues the first course by introducing tools for managing web sites of multiple pages. Also expands technical introduction to include links, uploading files, and web servers.
